Putting in a low budget Zen inspired organic garden with a sculptural fence in the spring and summer of 2006

  • I am starting to fence off the garden. A standing dead maple and local tree fall are the main componenets.
  • I have a couple of really good Japanese hand saws. They make short work of cutting and notching.
  • Using simple joinery along with two nail guns make the contruction fast.
  • A hole digger is used to bury the main poles. I sharpen the cutting edges. It helps!
  • By weaving the braches together and nailing and in some areas wrapping copper wire it goes together.
  • The fabrication does'nt require a lot of planning. The structure grows with the shapes and sizes of whats on hand.
  • By the end of the day the main part of the garden is enclosed
  • Starting the dig the beds
  • Still a work in progress.
