Putting in a low budget Zen inspired organic garden with a sculptural fence in the spring and summer of 2006
I am starting to fence off the garden. A standing dead maple and local tree fall are the main componenets.
I have a couple of really good Japanese hand saws. They make short work of cutting and notching.
Using simple joinery along with two nail guns make the contruction fast.
A hole digger is used to bury the main poles. I sharpen the cutting edges. It helps!
By weaving the braches together and nailing and in some areas wrapping copper wire it goes together.
The fabrication does'nt require a lot of planning. The structure grows with the shapes and sizes of whats on hand.
By the end of the day the main part of the garden is enclosed
Starting the dig the beds
Still a work in progress.
