There is no justice
Karl Rove, will, after all, not be going to jail.
I'll admit it, my heart is broken.
I
know there's a lot of speculation that he's turned state's evidence, and that
Fitz now has Cheney in his sights, but I'm not buying it. As John Lennon said:
"The Dream is Over". Sure, we still have Libby, Delay, Ney, Noe, Ambramoff,
Safavian, Lewis, Shockey, Hastert, Wilkes, and Wade coming up in one form or
another, plus who knows how many more, but it's just not the same. Never in my
life will I see Rove frog marched, or at least not when it matters. Never will I
have the pleasure of contemplating him on trial in front of a jury composed of
12 solid citizens of Washington DC. Never will I see him entering the prison in
which he so richly deserves to reside. All because some smart ass federal
prosecutor decided that he didn't have enough evidence to convict him beyond a
reasonable doubt of something everyone knows he did. If Fitz had any guts he'd
do like Bush would do-put him in jail anyway. After all, this innocent until
proven guilty claptrap is so pre-9-11. It's just not fair. Why can't we have a
Ken Starr too? If Starr had one tenth the evidence against Clinton that Fitz has
on Rove, he would have indicted him in a minute. Why, in any rational country
it would be a crime just to
be
Karl Rove.
Okay, I know I'll get over
it, but right now my despair is overwhelming. I must wait until my manic side
kicks in yet again. Till then, all is black.
