Joe spent the entire debate
attacking Lamont for (yes, that's right) running a negative, personal campaign.
He kept hoping that they could discuss the issues, while spending most of his
time attacking Ned, misprepresenting his own record, or wallowing in self pity
(Oh, the horror-an entitled incumbent forced to defend his record). Here's some
highlights, with a chorus by Alan Schlesinger delivering the evening's best
zinger.
(Note: Lieberman is lying about
his record on Social Security. And note also that he tries and fails to keep on
this side of the truth when he says that he never favored privatization "during
the Bush Administration", thereby excluding the 90s, when he was more explicit
in his support)
