I decline to try to summarize this post

Okay, Atrios is reconstituting his blogroll, and says that he only wants to list blogs he actually reads. And no, I'm not bitter that I'm not on it. I don't care one bit. I could care less that he ignores my existence. I don't think about it at all. I don't spend every moment obsessing about the fact that my countless hours of blogging are totally ignored by the big time guys. It doesn't matter to me. I don't care. I don't think about it. No one can say I do.

Where was I? Oh, yeah, blogrolls.

My policy is much more democratic than that of bigshots like Atrios. If I see something on a blog that I like, I will link to it. If a blog links to me, I will return the favor. If I know someone who is writing a blog, and they are not a right-winger, I will link to them.

Even I have my limits though, at least I'm sure that I do. It's just that I have never reached them. (Should that be "it"? is "limits" singular or plural in this context?)

Today I received an email from my son asking that I link to his friend Matt Kaeliln's photography website. So I went there, and found that it had nothing to do with politics, and wasn't even a blog. So, I was faced with the question. Had I met my limit? It's not that the pictures aren't good, it's just that I'm not quite sure I should be linking to stuff that doesn't have anything to do with, you know, truth, justice, and dumping on Republicans.

But then I thought, lighten up Wirzbicki, nobody pays attention to your blogroll anyway, and at least it's a live link. So, up it goes. Unfortunately, I can't seem to capture a sample picture, so if you're interested, you'll have to go to the link.

And speaking of dumping on Republicans, here's todays Zippy, in which we see that Bill Griffith is getting so upset about Bush that he is making Zippy nearly comprehensible. I am not particularly happy about this, since I feel that true appreciation of Zippy is reserved to the few, the cognoscenti, so to speak. It debases our fraternity to let just anyone feel like they "get" Zippy. I hereby declare that I, myself, certainly "get" Zippy, though I decline to explain him to you philistines. In any event, he can not be explained in mere words. It's more of a Zen thing.

You have to hand it to Griffith, it's hard to get a cartoon character to do impressions, but he manages to pull it off.

PS: A confession. I am writing this from a hotel room in Boston, having just returned from a wonderful restaurant, whose name I can't remember, because i drank the lion's share of two bottles of wine, partly because my wife always refuses to finish her glass, leaving me to finish it for her. She does it on purpose, I think. I have decided, against what I know should be my better judgment, to put this hodge podge up, though prudence dictates I should at least leave it be until tomorrow when I can read it again and exercise more sober judgment.
