Two for the good guys, if only for now

Three cheers for the gutsy Connecticut librarians who opposed the FBI' s Orwellian national security letters .

And three more for the Federal Magistrate who has ordered the federal government to say whether it has been spying on the conversations between criminal defendants and their attorneys. This one may not stand up. The government can appeal to the Judge, who can reverse the magistrate. Still, it's quite possible that the judiciary has had enough of Bushian overreaching. 29 is not as awe inspiring as 85.
