THE CHILDREN OF DAVID & MARY WIAND
1. EMANIAS was probably born in Carroll County, OH about 1835. He was listed as a 15 yrd old with David and Mary Wyand in Clinton Twp, in newly formed Vinton County, OH in 1850 and was still with them in 1860, but the 1840 census indicated that they had no children. It is possible that Emanias was the son of David's brother John if he was the one who died in 1849. Eminias Wiant served as a private in D company of the 18th Ohio Infantry during the civil war. No further record has been found.
2. JOHN was probably born in Carroll County, OH about 1841, moving further west with his parents to Clinton Twp, in newly formed Vinton County, OH by 1850. He was still living with his parents in 1870. In 1880 he was listed as a day laborer with two children - Annie 12 and John 4. This shows that the 2 year old listed with John's parents in 1870 was actually John's child. In neither 1870 or 1880 is a wife listed. No further record has been found. In 1900,Chauncey, Athens OH a John Wyant 34 was listed. This could be the above son of John.
3. ADAM was born about 1844 either in Carroll County or what would become Vinton Co where he was listed with his parents in 1850/60/70. In 1880 he was still single, living with his brother John. Adam married around 1892 Nettie ________. In 1900 she said she had had 3 children of whom one was living. There is no indication if these children were from her marriage to Adam. Adam was last mentioned in the 1910 census of Clinton Twp, Vinton Co. OH.
4. MARY A was born about 1849 in Vinton County, OH and was last listed with her parents in 1860 as a twenty-one year old. It is not known who she married.
5. LYDIA M. was born about 1855. She was not listed in the 1870 census when she would have been 15, and it is assumed she died between 1860 and 1870.
