Judge Ballinger is Great for
Marion
Dear
Editor,
I am writing to remind
Marion's citizens how important it is to keep the valuable resource we have in
our municipal court. When Judge Ballinger knocked on my door recently I told
her how pleased I was to see a woman holding this office. It seems that the
legal world is dominated by men. I believe when women participate in government
they bring balance and a fresh perspective. After talking with Judge Ballinger
about her experience I became even more convinced she is the best candidate for
this job.
Judge Ballinger's
experience as a social worker, teacher, and attorney allow her to understand the
people she sees in her courtroom. She enforces our laws and keeps our community
safe by holding offenders accountable while at the same time helping them learn
from their mistakes so they can make better decisions in the
future.
I have always admired
women who can balance family and work - and help their children grow into
productive members of society. These women have great management skills and
insight. Judge Ballinger is no different. As our Municipal Judge she hears
criminal and civil cases, controls her court's budget and manages the clerk of
court's office and bailiffs. Her courtroom is a forum for the defendants and
their attorneys, city prosecutors, and victim's advocates. She carefully
considers all of these viewpoints and delivers
justice.
I hope you will join me
in supporting Judge Ballinger this November. She is great for
Marion!
