Making a silver coin into a pendant
I use worn junk-bin coins I find at a local coin shop, or sterling silver sheet to make jewelry.

Any quarter, half, or dime 1964 or earlier is 90% silver
I found something I could adhere the coin to with foam tape.
Start by sanding it slightly smooth. You can polish later.
Made a 24.3 mm circle and dropped Apple logo in.
Adhered to coin with double side tape.
Using a Jewler's saw I cut out the design.
Once it pops out, leave the pattern on the coin.
Using smal X-Acto file set I cleaned up the edges.
Then pealed off the pattern.
I cleaned it up more after this point.
I started using a rock tumbler with small BBs for finishing.
Tumbler gives it a "glass bead" finish
Polishing with a buffing wheel gives better results.
I polished with 600 grit (right) and then used the wheel (left)
A nice shiny Apple.
I leave the back on some to make them feel thicker and to keep the date.
Cut this from a half dollar.
VW After buffing and polishing.
I polished both sides of this one.
Ready for cutting
Almost ready for polishing
Peace!
The more I do the easier it gets. Cut out Nantucket in one shot.
Made this crown for a buddy. He sketched it out, and I shrunk it down to size.
A Terrapin for another buddy.
Watch the movie of me making this one.

I was able to use the cut-out to make a second charm.
Bought a 6x1 inch, 16ga strip of sterling to experiment.
A Honda logo I made from the strip.
Contact me if you want a charm custom made. Cost will vary with time/design.
Gameboy I did for Brett L. This was cut from sterling and is about an inch tall.
Alien head made from a spoon.
A custom design
A hammered sterling guitar pick. Was made for a charm, but it sounds great!
The hammered finish makes them easier to hold onto.
An old engraved spoon makes a cool little charm.
I just love the old engraving
Here is another use for the handle end of the spoon. This thing is beefy!
A simple steal your face lightning bolt.

This was on some scrap. Made it into a Ferrari Keychain. Now I just need the car
