PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE

The breathtaking pilot – Truth Be Told – contained enough genre material for several seasons’ worth of compelling conflict, but J.J. Abrams’ vision is as audacious as it is brilliantly conceived. And Sydney’s world is a veritable Pandora’s box of duplicity.

Alias mines a rich seam of the cinematic and televisual oeuvre – from the films of Alfred Hitchcock and David Fincher to popular episodic television. However, the subtext is perhaps of greatest interest! At its core Alias is a deconstruction of the psychology that underpins familial dysfunction. Doctor Frasier Crane would be delighted to have the Bristows as his clients!

I for one cannot wait to see Sydney’s seven-season journey succeed!
