PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE
The breathtaking pilot Truth Be Told contained enough genre material for several seasons’ worth of compelling conflict, but J.J. Abrams’ vision is as audacious as it is brilliantly conceived. And Sydney’s world is a veritable Pandora’s box of duplicity.
Alias mines a rich seam of the cinematic and televisual oeuvre from the films of Alfred Hitchcock and David Fincher to popular episodic television. However, the subtext is perhaps of greatest interest! At its core Alias is a deconstruction of the psychology that underpins familial dysfunction. Doctor Frasier Crane would be delighted to have the Bristows as his clients!
I for one cannot wait to see Sydney’s seven-season journey succeed!
