Life in Kunming:
The periodic adventures of John and Deborah Lerme Goodman

In August of 2000 we moved to Kunming to work and travel for a year. In 2003 we did it again. Starting from this page, you can find the pictures and words recording our experiences as expats in Kunming. The "White Dragon Temple Weekly", named after our Kunming neighborhood, was our regular written attempt to make sense of our condition. On our second trip to Kunming we supplemented the WDTW with a sporadically updated blog called "sinofiles". All of these writings, as well as photographs and photo-essays, are listed below.

We are currently living in the US so our knowledge of China in general, and Kunming in particular, is rapidly becoming obsolete. You can look for up-to-date information at a new website called the Kunming Expat Portal. If you've still got questions and you think we might be able to help, you can click to send email to either John Goodman or Deborah Lerme Goodman

While we're in the US, Deborah is busy teaching English to immigrants. John is writing software and building something that is partly a clock, partly a calendar, and mostly just something nice to look at. You can see if you agree by visiting annosphere.com
