A total of 10 people gathered at noon in the pleasant dining room of the Dalhousie University Club on 14th February, 2006 for a very enjoyable luncheon.

This was uptown from the Old Triangle where eight of us last met for a pub lunch on Tuesday, 10 January and had an enjoyable time.

The Dalhousie University Club had a more 'ivory tower' sense to it, in the very heart of this historic and venerable institution, founded in 1818 by the ninth Earl of Dalhousie. The main dining room was light and airy and by all accounts the event was a great success.

Three members were met for the first time: Richard Haworth, of Wolfville, and Jonathan and Pearl Blay. Jonathan and Pearl had not been able to come to the Xmas 2005 event due to snowed-in conditions in Bedford, so it was very good to see them at last.

The following was submitted by one of our members, of Chester N.S., who writes from Spain:

"5 April, 2006:
Doreen and I were delighted to have been invited to the Oxford/Cambridge Boat Race Luncheon on Friday, March 31st, in Barcelona this year. We had a very good meal in the Gran Café which is in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. Twenty Oxford and Cambridge graduates and their spouses attended. While we missed seeing our good friends in Halifax, it was very nice to have been included in this event here and to have the opportunity to chat a bit about the much beloved student days.

Should anyone come to Barcelona and wish to participate in this chapter's monthly pub lunches, you may get in touch with Peter Harvey (peter@peterharvey.es).

You may also wish to know that as I write these lines my new website is being launched. If you care to take a peek it is: http://www.valverdestudiogallery.com

Kindest regards to all,

José Antonio Valverde"
