The highlight of the
stage. Lunch ! A magnificent feast at a magnificent
location. |

Sandro and Marco prepare our luchtime feast. This is a
feature of Dolcevita tours in which Sandro takes great
pride. Together Sandro and Marco set about preparing the
meal with a passion that not only had to be a taste
sensation but also had to be a visual one as well.
Heaven help anyone who got too close, or worse, tried to
steal something from the table, prior to completion.
Above left, Sandro puts the fishing touches to the meal with
a dash of virgin olive oil to the boccaccini and pomodoro. |

The meal has to be positioned in just the right place. |

Whilst the boys prepared the meal, the rest of us took the
plunge. Pat and Rebecca were in the water every
opportunity they got. |
Andy enjoyed a swim as well. |
Dave "Knuckles" Crampton takes the plunge with Rebecca. |
But not before the poor baby was dressed by Sue. I
could show another shot a few seconds after this one but
unfortunately it is censored. |

Anna sort of takes the plunge |
The daring Jenkins duo, take the plunge. Richard to
his kneecaps and Maria to her ancles.
So the daring ones were me (on the far rock right),
knuckles, Pat, Andy and Rebecca. |
Oh and of course Sue who unfortunatley found the only
stinger in the Mediteranean. We still don't know what
it was however it gave Sue a little sting on the elbow. |

After lunch came the mandatory sun-baking, veg out and
digestion period, prior to getting on the bike again. |
Almost as though planned for our personal entertainment, a
Maxi race came right past our location. What a
spectacular |
But, this is a cycling holiday and whilst eating fabulous
meals, frolicking in the mediteranean, sunbaking under the
Sardinian sun & watching the maxi spectacular are all nice
in their own right, it's time to hit the road. |

After a short ride from our beautiful lunch location it was
back to the ferry for the trip home to Palau. |
Some of us enjoyed the beautiful scenery once again |
Whilst others elected to sit down inside on the way back. |
Talking about beautiful scenery on the way back. |

Our old mate Warren Wilson, member of the 2006 Sicily trip,
unfortunately couldn't be on the Sardinia tour because of a
scheduling conflict but he has vowed to be on the next one.
Warren has been having some great success with his passion
of photography. He recently won a very prestigious
photograhic competition
(full story here)
Warren has often told me that he loves capturing simple man
made objects. So this one is for you Warren. A
rusty light which I captured on the ferry on the trip home
with La Maddelina in the background. |
