Tour of Sardinia 2008

Having conquered Sicily in 2006, 22 Randwick Botany members set off for the second largest Mediterranean island off the coast of Italy, Sardinia.  Between September 1 and September 10, The intrepid crew consisting of 15 riders and 7 non riders enjoyed a pleasurable but demanding 9 days riding via a prologue and eight stages over a distance of some 600 kilometres.

Left Sandro (Alessandro Cresto) and Marco (right) from Dolcevita Tours.  The girls made me put this photo of Marco in.  It is not from day 1, it was from Stage 7, where we all had a swim at the lunch spot, but it does capture the real Marco after he had become very much part of the RBCC team.  Sandro and Marco, both great riders, took turns day on, day off, one to ride and one to drive the support vehicle.  They both did a fabulous job and made this tour something that we will all treasure for the rest of our lives.  Thanks guys.  In fact we don't want to wait that long so we are already planning the sequel for May 2010.
