iSight on an iMac G5


Magnetic mounting works great

As predicted, the magnetic mount that comes with /B versions of the iSight (the one currently available in stores) works great with the G5 iMac. The magnet in the mount is very strong, and really clamps itself to the top of the iMac, allowing you to angle and pivot the camera easily. The white plastic doesn't quite match the iMac's case precisely, but it still looks very smart. If you have the original iSight which doesn't come with the magnetic mounting, it's probably worth treating yourself to the iSight Accessory Kit which includes it (but check eBay for a used one, as it's typically Apple-priced).


Rear view: Can't do much to hide those wires..


Front view: Position your iChat window near the top for best results


Front side view: The stand doesn't quite match, but is still smart.
