Government Cruelty ..

HISTORICALLY, RIGHT ON UP TO THE PRESENT DAY, THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR HAS BEEN ONE OF THE MOST CORRUPT, DECEITFUL AND WRONGFULLY MANAGED ADMINISTRATIVE AGENCIES OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. FROM ITS DESTRUCTION OF PUBLIC LANDS AND WILDLIFE TO ITS DENIAL OF FREEDOM AND CONTINUING ABUSE AND ATTEMPTED SUBJUGATION OF AMERICAN INDIANS. WHEN IT COMES TO WILD HORSES, THIS DEPARTMENT MAINLY RELIES ON POLICY EXECUTION BY ONE OF ITS SUBORDINATE AGENCIES, THE BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT (BLM), SOMETIMES IN CONJUNCTION WITH ONE OR MORE OF ITS OTHER AGENCIES, MOST NOTABLY THE FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE AND/OR THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE. AND, AS IF THAT WEREN'T ENOUGH LAYERS FOR HIDING GOVERNMENT'S UNDER THE TABLE DEALINGS, THE AFOREMENTIONED AGENCIES GENERALLY CAN RELY ON STILL FURTHER BACKING, WHEN NEEDED, FROM THE EQUALLY CORRUPT AND MORALLY DEFICIENT U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE.
BOTH THE INTERIOR AND AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENTS CONTINUALLY AND CONSISTENTLY FUNCTION AT THE BEHEST OF GIANT CORPORATIONS AND OTHER COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL SPECIAL INTERESTS, RUTHLESSLY DESTROYING THE QUALITY AND VALUE OF PUBLIC LANDS, CRUELLY AND OFT TIMES VIOLENTLY, REMOVING, KILLING OR OTHERWISE DESTROYING ANYTHING THAT GETS IN THEIR WAY, INCLUDING ENDANGERED SPECIES OF WILDLIFE (INCLUDING WILD HORSES) AND SOMETIMES EVEN KNOWINGLY AND/OR NEGLIGENTLY CONTAMINATING TO FOOD SUPPLY OF PEOPLES IN THE U.S. AND ELSEWHERE AROUND THE WORLD. AND, THE INTERIOR DEPARTMENT'S BLM APPEARS TO BE SO USELESS AND CORRUPT THAT THE TOTAL ELIMINATION OF THAT AGENCY WOULD, IN FACT, BE A GREAT PUBLIC SERVICE AND HUGE FINANCIAL SAVINGS FOR THE OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF AMERICAN CITIZENS AND TAXPAYERS.
|
For decades the BLM has employed a relentlessly destructive policy of so called multiple use of the land, while supposedly having a continuous mission to protect and preserve the land for present and future generations of Americans. To suggest that land is being preserved by its continuous use, multiple or otherwise, is an oxymoron. For, if someone keeps on using a part of the land, eventually that part of the land gets USED UP, not preserved. This especially is true with land that has its natural resourses stolen, as in the cases of BLM land leases for oil, natural gas and mineral extraction. The BLM also poisons public lands with the pollution that occurs from leases for overcrowded private cattle grazing.
To pull off its execution of these kinds of oxymoron riddled policies, the BLM and other Interior Deparment agencies continue to rely on what seem like a countless number of deceptive and false advertising campaigns, nearly always convincing an unsuspecting majority of the general public that it is accomplishing the exact opposite results from what it ACTUALLY and intentionally is achieving. So, while it preoccupies its likewise corrupted staff members mainly with the business of making commercial, sweetheart land brokerage deals that virtually steal the public lands from the public, it touts the misleading but catchy phrase that it fabricated about multiple land use. And, the resulting public misconception of the BLM's policy is that "multiple use", because it supposedly is MULTIPLE, is going to multiply the number of ways in which the public lands are being used, thereby multiplying the variety of ways in which these lands can be enjoyed and serve a wider variety of public interests. Nothing could be further from the truth in this blatantly deceptive policy.

Another oxymoron occurs whenever someone talks about managing wild horses. By only partial definition, the word wild means "produced or yielded naturally, without the aid of man". And, by a further, partial definition, the word wild means "self willed ... not controlled .. checked .. or restrained". So, when wild horses are managed by government agencies, subjected to human interventions to determine such things as how many will be permitted on a certain section of land and which ones will or will not be permitted to breed and reproduce, they lose essential elements of their wildness. Ultimately, with a continution of government management, wildhorses in our nation will have been erradicated, altogether.
As has always been the case with our government's historic and still continuing efforts to subjugate and deny freedom to American Indians, there is unconscionable cruelty in the government's methods for achieving its ends, where wild horses are concerned. The material which appears directly below, pertains to a June, 2006 roundup of wild horses in Nevada. This kind of horror show has been going on for the better part of a century.

NOTICE: Parents of very young children are advised that some of the larger photos, which appear directly below, may be considered by some to be even more graphic in nature. |
THESE PHOTOS WERE TAKEN DURING A WILD HORSE ROUNDUP CONDUCTED BY THE U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE DURING THE FINAL WEEK OF JUNE, 2006, WHICH STILL IS IN THE FOALING SEASON.
MORE PHOTOS OF THE ROUNDUP APPEAR ON THE AMERICAN WILD HORSE PRESERVATION CAMPAIGN (AWHPC) WEBSITE, WHICH MAY BE ACCESSED DIRECTLY FROM A LINK AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE. The editor of this website expresses appreciation to the AWHPC for granting permission for this site's use of the photos which appear on this page

Please bear in mind, when viewing the following photos, that there was an extensive amount of public protest to officials of the Fish and Wildlife Service, who received advanced pleas and warnings from wild horse advocates that such an activity, especially with the use of one or more helicopters, almost certainly would be highly injurious and very likely be deadly to a significant number of these horses, especially foals who would be only days or weeks old and still pregnant mares.
In response, officials of the Fish and Wildlife Service totally disregarded all such warnings. In the process, they lied about the foaling season ... they lied about the helicopters ... they lied about plans for special and careful handling of any foals ,,, and they lied about the reasons for the roundup.
|
|
In the conduct of the roundup itself, these public officials, who supposedly are paid to be honest and forthright "servants of the public", provided graphic demonstration of why the government of our basically compassionate public now is looked upon by peoples of much of the rest of the world as being the essence of evil, cruelty, brutality and actual denial of freedom.

|
In the aftermath of the roundup, despite photo evidence to the contrary, officials of the Fish and Wildlife Service continue to lie about the helicopters ... continue to lie about the foaling season ... |
|
... continue to lie about the foals maimed or killed while fleeing for their lives ... continue to lie about the foals who were aborted by mares who were fleeing for their lives ... |
|
... continue to lie about taking care for especially gentle handling of baby horses ... |
|
... continue to lie about the extent of deaths and injuries... |
|
... continue to lie about the reasons for their evil, cruelty and destruction of the innocent and of the very nature of what America is supposed to stand for. |

ABOVE: "One of three survivors, barely four weeks old, clinging to life in the vet's office."
In another, similar case, the following was reported:
"Well, our little Sheldon orphan died this evening. He was doing so well this morning and even at Noon. At 3 I went out to see him and he refused the treat I brought him, which I thought was sort of weird, but I thought maybe he just wasn't hungry or didn't like the particular treat.
Then at 5:30 I went out to do chores and feed him, and he was horribly wrong. So I called the vet and she came out as soon as she could and worked for over an hour, doing whatever she could. But his lips and gums were dark blue-gray, his extremities were cold, he was starting to colic, his lungs were crackly, and he had a fever of 105. This was so sudden, she couldn't really figure what was going on. But he finally flopped down and she gave him Rompum, which is a powerful pain killer, to see if that would help. It didn't.
His vital signs were getting worse rapidly, so we made the decision to put him down to avoid a long painful death. After he died, she drew fluids from his belly on a hunch that he might have ruptured an intestine, and the fluid came out deep yellow with food particles. She did the test twice from two locations and each time as the same. So apparently that is what happened - he ruptured a gut, in which case there is nothing at all we could have done about it. What an awful end to a tough little life."

The editor of this website is calling for all Americans to demand public accountability by government officials on this and other, similar wild horse abuses by our out of control government. U.S. Congressmen and Senators from all states need to be contacted and convinced that they will be voted out of office unless they act NOW to bring about a complete and independent Grand Jury Investigation of the former and present Director of the U.S. Department of the Interior and the Directors of that department's subordinate agencies, the Fish and Wildlife Service and the Bureau of Land Management, which agencies repeatedly lie to the public to cover up this and other such repeatedly cruel and criminal abuses of power to serve their own corrupt interests.
