This site is an often valuable resource, for staying aware of
the latest changes and attitudes regarding the full range of Natural
Horse issues. It's heavily oriented toward herbal remedies and holistic treatments for horses.

THE SOQUILI CENTER website is published by Ed Littlefox, presenting a number of very interesting American Indian views and perspectives on living with and relating to horses. This material is presented with a philosophy that very directly applies to modern day horse handling and horse keeping methods and problems, including such concerns as horse slaugher and the NAIS. |

The Headquarters for the Natural Horse Network is located in Colorado. And, while this website includes lots of information concerning Colorado's own natural horse people and their activities, it also contains a wide variety of natural horse information and viewpoints that may be of interest to horse owners and professionals everywhere.
(Our endorsement of this website, however, does not necessarily mean that we also endorse any of the commercial, "natural horse" products that are advertised on it.)

WE
DO NOT ENDORSE ANY PARTICULAR TRAINER, AT THIS TIME, as regards
ongoing and advanced training or horses to perform certain, specific
functions of such things as riding, jumping, driving, or leaping
through flaming hoops.
.
Our
comments and suggestions, regarding things to look for in a trainer,
or training method, are contained in the Training section of
our Living with Horses - ISSUES site. Most non-professional
people, whom we know to be successful in training their own horses,
have used a combination of methods from several different professional
trainers, as has seemed most appropriate for their particular
horses. Widely known trainers who seem most often to be included in such 'mixes' include Mark Rashid, Pat Parelli, John Lyons, Dan Sumerel and Buck Brannaman. Their individual websites easily can be located by entering their names in a Google search box. And, people who have combined Print and Online subscriptions to Natural Horse Magazine (see above), which is a huge bargain, can search it's website archives to find such things as seven articles that give complete directions for Pat Parelli's |

IN DEFENSE OF ANIMALS (IDA) .. is the only major group, with concerns for wildlive animal protection and preservation, that exercises the fairness in judgement and sound attention to separating facts from propaganda, so as to include wild horses in its various action campaigns. This also appears to be a great organization for overall animal welfare. IDA's 'THEY ARE NOT OUR PROPERTY" campaign has the full and active support of the editor of this Wild Horse Ecology website. |

Defenders of Wildlife : This organization possibly has become the most innovative of all the various national wildlife preservation groups. It certainly appears to be one of the most active. In 2006, its directors announced the organization of regional subdivisions, to more effectively deal with more localized wildlife preservation issues that too often are overlooked by many other so called eco-groups.

Western Watersheds Project: In recent, this Idaho organization actually achieved various degrees of positive action results, to remove some environmentally destructive commercial cattle grazing from western range lands. It obtained federal court rulings to somewhat limit the continued Bureau of Land Management (BLM) abuse and destruction of public lands for private interest profit, at the expense of wilderness preservation for public welfare.

This is the Marjorie Smith site.
It is filled with excellent photos to illustrate the information
and probably is most useful for those who plan
to trying doing hoof trimming, themselves, for the very first time
. For the more experienced, do-it-yourself hoof trimmers, this is a continually updated
site, so as to be a good resource for keeping current
with recent and still ongoing changes in natural hoof trimming methods. www.barefoothorse.com/ |

This is Peter Laidely's web site, out of Australia.

American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign

Probably the most extensive source of up to date information about American wild horses.

This is a very active organization, which organized a 2005 rally in Washington, D.C., supporting both wild horse preservation and the outlawing of horse slaughter.
