Driveway

Photo

The driveway, leading to the house and a small barn, runs in between the south side of the front pasture and a natural woodsy strip, that extemds from our largest wooded area which forms the southeastern corner of the property. The property has what some might perceive as a so called "varmit" problem, both with woodchucks as well as foxes and raccoons, who occasionally run across the driveway and into the front pasture.  Except for keeping an eye on this situation, kicking local hunters off of the property and  alerting any neighbors on horseback to watch out for groundhog holes along the edges of wooded areas, our policy has been to do NOTHING, other than simply coexist with these wildlife residents.   To date, after five years, while there may be a slight increase of woodchuck (groundhog) burrows in the woodsy strip, there have been no apparent problems with any of these wildlife animals.
