Unfortunately, back in the 1980s, Natam was trained and ridden without the benefit of "natural" horse care and handling methods, not as popularly known at that time. That piece of junk around his neck and chest is called a running martingale, which actually would have been unnecessary, had a different and less hurried method of training been used with Natam.
