Intel movtoy4m!
Tyler Loch has sent me a patch that makes movto4ym run natively on the Intel architecture! Turns out that only two lines needed changes, and not ten times that, as I had feared. For the curious, k32ARGBPixelFormat was changed to k32BGRAPixelFormat. Thanks QuickTime, and thanks Tyler! Download the latest version of movtoy4m on this web site.
Intel movtoy4m?
A number of people have asked me if there is or will be a version of movtoy4m available for the new Intel platform. The short answer is: No. The slightly longer answer is: No, but if you want to make such a version, you're most welcome. The reason I will not be releasing a new version of movtoy4m is that it is not just a simple recompile, and doing any major work on it would clash with my current obligations with another project. If some kind soul decides to update the tool I will post the updated binary and source code here.

The problem with just recompiling movtoy4m is that it was written at a time when running Mac OS X on an Intel machine seemed very unlikely, and therefore it has some byte sex issues. Anyway, you can download the source code and give it a try. Don't forget to send me any patches to the code so that more people can benefit from it.
