| Accidental Mpegs are a collection of video clips taken by mistake. The clips were shot on digital still cameras when the photographer accidentally switched to movie mode instead of still mode. The clips here represent some of the best of a growing database (I have close to 100 clips already). I first noticed the phenomenon while working as a Macintosh computer consultant in New York. All the photographers have given me permission. The collection works well as an installation. Here's an image from my show "Loading" at vertexList in the winter of 2004. The monitor on the right was for selecting clips which play on the monitor on the left.
