Fall River Line Docks

The Fall River Dock was located at the mouth of the Taunton River next to the Borden owned Fall River Iron Works. Fall River Pier
Boston Train
The train from Boston had a railway station on the dock, so that New York bound passengers could just walk across the dock and on to the sailboat. After steamboat service was discontinued in1937, the New Haven Railroad moved the station further North on North Main Street. Passengers got into carriages and were driven under the railway tracks and on to the steamboat dock. I came along in the 1940s when passenger service to Boston was limping along. The station was a long, single story that stood on a long sweeping arc of a drive. It was torn down in the 1950s to make room for an A&P supermarket.

The New York dock were first located at pier and later at pier .
