An Emotional Week

Just getting home from Michigan. My Uncle Phil passed away suddenly last weekend of a heart attack. We (my parents, another aunt and uncle, my sister, and her daughter) left Tuesday morning so that we could attend the wake Tuesday evening, and then the funeral on Wednesday.

I had just seen my Aunt Shirley and Uncle Phil in March. I used to play for a softball team out of the Detroit area, and still get up there a couple of times a year. March is the annual Hall Of Fame Banquet in Sterling Heights, and I have many teammates and friends who are either already inducted, getting inducted, or will be in the future, so I always try to attend. So the day after the banquet last March, I made the 20 minute trip and spent a couple hours visiting. I'm glad I did.

I talked to a couple of friends to let them know I was going to be in town for a few days. It turned out that one of them (Chuck) was turning 50, and his wife was planning a party for him Thursday night at the park where we played. Thankfully, everyone agreed to stay an extra day, and I was able to attend the party and see so many friends that I now only get to see a couple times a year. A bittersweet ending to an emotional week.

I have no idea as I write this if my show was aired on Wednesday. In any case, it is now available for download or podcast. Here's the playlist:
