Another Day Of Wonder... and change
Jun. 18, 2008 20:13
Tonight’s show is my last in my home of the past
6+ years. Chris, Anna, and I moved here in
February of 2002, and our lives have seen “the
full gamut” as Andy Tillison so aptly put it:
joy, sorrow, accomplishment, elation, tragedy,
sadness, frustration, but through all of it there
has always been two overriding emotions that have
held it all together; humor and love. When we
moved here we didn’t expect to be here this long.
I thought we’d be able to buy a house after a
couple of years, but all that changed with one
slip of a ladder.
Chris recently got a place in Chicago closer to work. The frustration of fighting traffic for up to four hours a day finally got to be too much, and lately her job has become demanding to the point that all of her time was being spent doing work-related things. Until my work comp case is settled and Anna finishes junior college, I felt I need to stay close to home until all things here are settled. Only problem is my SS Disability isn’t enough to afford to stay here, so I’m going to be spending some time with my parents for a while. I’m hopeful that when everthing is finally settled, Chris and I can buy an old house with a nice yard for Trooper and never have to move again. I’m allowed to dream...
New music on tonight’s show! Carl Westholm of Carptree has a solo project called Jupiter Society and is joined by Declan Burke of Darwin’s Radio. The album is called “First Contact//Last Warning”. We’ve also got the 3rd album from fellow Swede’s Brother Ape, this album is called, simply, “III”. And finally, after featuring the new album from Polish proggers Believe last month, we now bring you some bonus material from the special edition verision of “Yesterday Is A Friend”.
Due to my impending move, we won’t be broadcasting for the next two weeks. We’ll return to the air on Wednesday, July 9 at 6pm EDT at ProgRock, the FIRST name in progressive rock! Stay informed or keep in touch at www.myspace.com/interstellarjoel

Don't take the brown acid
Jun. 04, 2008 20:32
Lots of trippy stuff tonight. We start by
celebrating the upcoming live performances of
“Atom Heart Mother” by Floyd collaborator Ron
Geesin at next weekend’s Chelsea Festival to
feature a special guest appearance by David
Gilmour. We’ve also got the new album “Third”
from Portishead.
On another subject, I’ve been working on some family history research lately, and I’ve been badgering a first-cousin of my dad to meet with her as she is currently my oldest living relative. She also inherited a lot of pictures and documents from my great aunt when she passed away in 2000. Anyway, she called my tonight right at the end of my show and we have currently agreed to meet next Wednesday afternoon. I’ve been working on hooking up with her for months, so I’ll take what I can get, though it may interfere with my webcasting schedule. So, if nothing comes up between now and then to change our plans, I will not broadcast, or if I do it will be later in the evening. More on this next week.
