Headlight pivot repair

Damaged pivot
The fiberglass is broken out on the near pivot point, leaving an opening instead of a perfect circle. I'd fix the fiberglass - but the headlight pod's pivot rod is rusted in place, which would make it impossible to reinstall.

Add-on Pivot
Instead I've made this add-on pivot out of high-density polyethelene (from a kitchen cutting board.) I'll install the headlight, then slide this over the pivot rod to hold it in place.

Attaching the Pivot
The pivot is clamped in place while waiting for the epoxy to dry. It's also secured by a couple of rivets.

Interior repair
Meanwhile, an interior fix - plastic gearshift-linkage cover won't attach because the plastic lip along the bottom is broken off. I'll replace it with an aluminum angle strip.

Interior repair
Large-head 'snowmobile rivets' with backing plates hold the angle in place. The angle gives a solid surface for attaching the cover, and makes it stiffer as well.
