Windows Security Tools

Many virus and spyware programs affect Windows' ability to connect to common security websites, either to update existing antivirus/antispyware products or to download a new product. The links below allow you to download the current versions of these free best-in-class products from this website, so you should be able to download them even if your computer is infected with malware that prevents downloads from the vendors' websites.

Why should you trust these downloads? If you don't know who sent you to this web page, you shouldn't trust it. Always be suspicious when it comes to downloadable software; otherwise you'll end up with an infected PC at best, and possibly lost data, time, money, and/or privacy. It's always best to download these products from their respective company websites if you can. This page is for folks who, for one reason or another, can't access those websites.

AVIRA and AVG are both very good free antivirus programs. Choose one. If you're running an antivirus product from Norton/Symantec, McAfee, or any of the other "big boys," replace it with one of these, save a little money, and sleep easier.

Windows Defender is Microsoft's antispyware program, and is designed to work seamlessly with Windows XP. It's already built into Vista & 7.

OpenVPN is not anti-malware software, but some people need it but can't download it from the main site. If you don't know what it is, leave it alone.
