Many of my more useful and fun workflows have become apps. I find apps more useful for my own needs, plus apps can be used by anyone with the current OS. They're all freeware, so enjoy. If you want to see or experiment the original workflow, just drag the app's icon onto the Automator icon on your dock.

Photofloes (v1.0) are handy drag and drop photo conversion apps. They quickly do a few things iPhoto does and a few more it can't. You can drag almost any image directly onto the icon, including straight from iPhoto. Drop multiple images for batch processing. Current offerings in the package:
• Monotone Converter - changes image to pure black and white
• Black and White Converter - changes to grayscale
• Blue Converter - Changes color or black and white to blue
• Sepia Converter - Changes color of black and white to sepia
• Image Flipper - Reverses sides of an image
• Posterize Image - Reduces image to 256 colors
• RezUp 200% - Doubles the pixels
• RezUp 400% - Quadruples the pixels

ShuffleNote (v1.0) pops up a text field that you can type or paste text into and turns it into an audio note on your iPod Shuffle. Directions, phone numbers, email, web pages, short stories, whatever, can be read to you with a few button presses. Works on any iPod. Requires iTunes 4.7 or newer.

Background Sound (v1.0) was my first Automator app. It uses the iTunes visualizer to create a unique desktop photo. Clicking on the icon again will give you a new desktop image. For those impatient enough to want a new desktop everyday (or hour) without having to weed through all those cute puppy photos.
