Battery Box Installed
I wanted to keep the battery off the firewall so I installed it on the chassis.

I started by finding a place the mounting plate would fit. Right behind the passenger wheel worked well.

I used painters tape to mark my holes to drill. I used 3/8 bolts with nylon lock nuts to mount the plate on the frame.

Here is the frame after I drilled some additional holes.

Here is the battery box installed and lowered.

Still plenty of room for the battery cables.

Lots Going On

Well I have been busy despite not posting any updates as of late. I have made lots of progress on getting the motor in the truck along with the electrical and chassis. Today I picked up several parts from the paint and chrome shop.

If all goes well the motor should go in this weekend. If my carb comes in then I might get the chance to get the motor started. Otherwise it will be at least another week.

The garage is a mess and I have parts all over the place but the end is actually in sight. :)

Father's Day

Father's Day was a full one! After church I got this great book from my Emily. She got to write all kinds of things about me and her. It was really cool. We all went to see the sneak preview of Herbie - Fully Reloaded in the afternoon. It was a great movie and Emily got several good laughs out of Herbie.

Power Steering - Authentic Automotive

I got a power steering pump from one of my friends at Authentic Automotive. The owner has been extremely helpful to me over the years on my previous project as well as the work on my truck. If you need anything related to steering Steve is the guy to call.
