  | SUBJECT: The subject of a sentence may be one word or many words and is the part of the sentence about which something is said.
Example: Sue made a cake. (Sue is the subject because something is being said about Sue.)
Example: My little brother believes in Santa Claus. (To find the subject, ask yourself, “Who believes in Santa Claus?” The subject is my little brother. The whole subject is called the complete subject. My little brother is the complete subject. The simple subject is brother.)
Note: The complete subject includes the simple subject and its modifying words or phrases.
