This is my how-to site. The essays are notes about the experience of becoming familiar with the tools of my trade. While I try to discuss some technical background, I'd advise following some links off page for detailed discussions. The pages change as more information is added. Progress is noted on the site's home page, along with a listing of newly added essays. Here are the current areas of discussion.
My philosophical weblog, On Deciding . . . Better, began with explorations of Decision Theory and moved into discussions of Systems Theory. Over the years, I developed a somewhat coherent view of the relationship between uncertainty and the emergence of behaviors from complex systems. I was frustrated by the linear chronological structure of the weblog. It was a stream of writing stretching over years that was accessible only by searching. My goal here is to use Tinderbox as a tool to collect my writing in an edited systematic, hyperlinked set of essays, more book than journal. My mission here is to be a how-to site. Since I spend a good bit of time learning how to do things, I can share that knowledge here. After the start, there's improvement and change. |
