iBlog 1.3.6 is out

Let's see what it does now...

You can download it from the Lifli Products page.

From the Read Me file:

Changes in version 1.3.6 (April 13th, 2004)
-----------------------------------------------------
1. Extended support for hyperlinks

When you select some text and click the hyperlink button, you have an option to set the hyperlink to open in new window. If you select hyperlinked text and click the hyperlink button you will have an option to edit or clear the existing URL. Make sure your selection starts at the beginning of the hyperlinked text.
2. Support for editing image attributes.

You can double click an image attachment in entry abstract or body and set its attributes. The following attributes are supported.

Width - The width of the image

Height - The height of the image

VSpace - The amount of vertical white space. The amount of empty space (at the top and bottom) between the image and the surrounding text.

HSpace - The amount of horizontal white space. The amount of empty space (at the left and right) between the image and the surrounding text.

Alignment - This attribute is used to set the wrapping of text around the image. The image can be set to the left, right, top or bottom of the following text.

Alt - This attribute is used to set the text that is shown in the browser if the image is not displayed for some reason.

Border - The border of the image. Set this to 0 when the image is hyperlinked to prevent a blue line surrounding the image.

Hyperlink - This attribute is used to set the URL to hyperlink the image.

Note: These attributes will be applied to the image when you click the preview button.

3. UTF-8 character set encoding.

All the html files generated by iBlog will now use UTF-8 encoding instead of iso-8859-1 encoding. When you run the latest build it will automatically make this change in the template files of the default template sets (RightNavigation and LeftNavigation) and the common template files (HomePage.txt and FeedPage.txt). So the string content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" is changed to content="text/html; charset=UTF-8".

4. Top stories

Each entry (Add/Edit entry window) has a new "Top Story" option. If this option is checked the entry is always shown in the blog and category page. The post date and timestamp is not displayed in the html files for Top Story entries.

5. Removes the "Read More" link when there is nothing more to read.

6. Added support for <$BlogDescription$> tag in all the template files.

7. Added support for editing the entry post date time-stamps.

8. Fixes - category image size, newsisfree.com feed links.

Whew. That seems like a pretty nice bunch of stuff. Not everything that has been asked for, but good progress.

I will definitely mess around with some of the image options.

On to the bad news! They replaced the templates again!! Grrr. Now comments and a bunch of other stuff is broken!
