Observations and Efficiencies
Isn't that odd?
I've got a longer commute now (a hour each way) and I've noticed that
some drivers arrange their rear-view mirrors so that they can't see behind them
selves with out moving their head. This seems odd to me. I have always made it
so that the view through my mirror is right out the back window. The side
mirrors are slightly spread to reduce the blind spots. If I had to lift my head
up or move it left or right in order to see, I would miss stuff. Important
stuff, like flashing red/blue lights, kamikaze drivers of sports cars and
motorcycles, or big, nasty, out-of-control trucks coming up fast behind me.
Another matter. My mom wants me to sing the ABC song (or
Twinkle-Twinkle Little Star) while washing my hands. This is so I give the
germs a bit of entertainment while they die. But I've noticed a bigger problem.
At the sinks at work, we've got three basins with liquid soap dispensers between
them. The liquid soap works best if your hands are wet, so I used to do the
following: 1) Turn on water (mix of hot and cold) 2) Wet hands 3) Reach over and
get soap 4) continue...
The problem is, this leaves a trail of water
from the sink to the soap dispenser and back again. Messy. A better way is to 1)
Turn on water 2) Get soap on one hand 3) get the other hand wet 4) rub
vigorously (while humming of course!). Violá!
I love
efficiencies... Just ask my wife about loading the dishwasher!
