Apple Training R.I.P.
I am no longer at Apple, Inc.
Apple has all but eliminated their Customer Training Group. As my primary role was to take care of the training rooms around the country and be a sysadmin for that group, they let me go.
My resume is available.

Star Wars turns 30
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
It's amazing to me that thirty years ago I spent the whole summer in line
at the Century 22 theater in San Jose. My friend Cyrus was, and still is, a
sci-fi fan. He used to buy the special effects magazines and so he knew about
Star Wars before it came out. I think we saw the movie at least ten times that
summer.
Just look at these kids:
BTW- The original poster is kinda goofy. I preferred the old style poster
that came out after the movie was released.

Birdies!
Bird feeder action!
We invested in a couple of bird feeders and are having wonderful luck.
Check out the Anna's Hummingbird chick that took a nap on our
feeder. He was there for an hour or so. Mama and Papa came by to check on him
occasionally.
And here is in acorn woodpecker too:

WeeMee
it's sooooo fun!
Sheesh. It's pretty cute though. It needs an option to start your Weemee
going
grey...

Open X !
Not what you think...
It's a nifty tool I found on
Kevin Kelly's
Cool
Tools -
Open X It was only $5 so I ordered
one.
But why have you added this to you humor section?
Um, it came in a ridgid blister pack!
The kicker is that my
9-year-old son, after hearing me say sarcastically that I couldn't get it open
because it was trapped in the very stuff it was meant to open, took a pair of
scissors to it while I wasn't looking. Now I can use it! :)

Lovin' it
Plus a bonus funny
Ok. It's been almost 1 week and I'm loving it so far. I find myself
driving more calmly than before, but that's OK
One funny bit. The
manuals and support documents (including
PriusChat and other sites) have been great. With
one exception. There were three small tags that were tucked away hanging from
the wiper arm on the steering column. One of them reads:
- IN THOSE CASES SUCH AS THE TIME OF ENGINE STARTING AND A SHORT TRIP AFTER THE ENGINE IS STOPPED, MOTOR WATER PUMP WILL WORK FOR A MOMENT, BUT THIS IS NO PROBLEM.
- THIS IS FOR THE PREPARATION FOR GOOD EMISSION.
Good 'ol
Engrish.

Another picture
Still not mine, but one that is a white touring edition
Super white touring edition Prius
Notice that the wheels are different and the bar in the grill is
chrome. (the wing on the back is slightly larger too, but it can't be seen in
this shot.)
Oh, the car pictured has tinted windows. Mine doesn't
although I am considering light tinting on the rear (as per CA law).

Super White Touring!
I have a new car !
Like a couple of other friends and co-workers (Jolene and
Karl), I have purchased a new car.
After spending months lusting after the Toyota Prius, and doing
weeks of research. I test drove one at Toyota of Santa Cruz on Friday, Feb. 23,
but luckily my lovely wife had me come home instead of staying there.
More research ensued. Much more. I trolled
Prius Chat,
PriusOnline,
and other sites. I spoke to three other people who I know that already owned a
Prius. I counted them as I passed through my daily commute. I studied
Car Buying
Tips and Edmonds and Yahoo Autos. I checked into buying a used one vs.
a new one.
I even did some chores around the house to build
wife faction (Our living room has a fresh coat
of paint and soon our laundry room cabinets will be
installed.)
I ended up buying a new
2007 Prius Touring Edition in Super White from
Fremont
Toyota. It is pretty much the loaded version. It has the
navigation system and leather seats (real ones,
not the "leather trimmed") ones. Kris Mang is the internet broker at the dealer
and he was straight forward and helpful.
Thanks to all involved,
especially my lovely, and loving, wife Shawn. You're next
baby!

Google ads?
I just don't get those Google Ads.
How come there have been a bunch of ads about "redrosiD gnitaE" (read it
backwards) on my site? I have written about anything that I can find that might
trigger that. (I did several google searches within my site to
check.
How very odd.
Maybe I should say something
about HAPPY LOVE and Bonny Doon and KITTENS and PUPPIES
