so, i've been staying with my family in tokyo for the summer, spending a lot of time watching tv and macintoshing. and just right now, my brother who lives in northern japan talked to me on iChat, saying he was worried about dad. so here is the conversation we had like 2 minutes ago.

recording session



this one's gonna be really cool, cuz i just went to see a recording session of some new j-pop artist. they already recorded the rhythm section, and they were recording strings that go with the melody.

hurray yellow cab



am flying to japan today. my brother's flight is at 10am and mine is at 1pm, so we were gonna leave separately, but when i called to reserve a shuttle, they never answered, even though it said on the website they answered phone calls from 6am to whatever. i kept calling them, but around 6:40, i gave up, and we decided to take a cab.

Sun - July 4, 2004

before sunset



so, we were psyched about watching this sequel(?) of our all time favorite movie, 'before sunrise'. when it came out in 1995, i was only 12. i didnt get to see the film until i was in high school, right after i got into the whole ethan hawke thing. i was sooo crazy about ethan back then (and i still am), i would rent all his movies and watch them all night.

independence day fireworks



now that most of my friends are gone to europe, this day, the day probably 80% of people (who are, of course, 21 or older:p) get drunk and watch the fireworks and celebrate, i decide to spend with my brother who in fact hates beer (yall know i love beer, right?).

have a good trip



woke up at 6am to drop off my friends at LAX. they are flying to germany today for a summer exchange program of some sort in a small town in germany called westerkappeln. only those music students who took the germany band audition and had been accepted are going, and naturally, i didnt take the audition (cuz i suck), therefore i do not get to go... :'( *tears* and worse (for me), after germany, they are staying in france for a few days... :'( *weep weep*

genevieve's birthday



went to liquid kitty to celebrate genevieve's 22nd birthday. liquid kitty was one of the bars i had always wanted to go but never had a chance to, plus i've heard they have really good drinks, so i was really excited when i was told we were going there.
