TEXAS Travels in 2004

2004 was a year for staying in Texas & traveling from West Texas, to Big Bend to South Padre Island and points between. What wonderful sites and great time with family & friends. It is amazing how much fun it is traveling and seeing TEXAS wonders. There is so much to see and take part in. We have been so blessed.

We did have a family reunion to celebrate E.B. Baker's 80th. birthday as shown in the picture.

It was our first visit to several places. We arrived at Ft. Davis in time to celebrate their 150th. birthday and enjoyed the town and the celebration. Big Bend is wonderful and it is a place in Texas everyone should visit.

On our way to Kingsville and Jim's HS reunion, we managed to stay at several of the state parks in the hill country. They were fun, except for the flood at Garner. No one was hurt, but a lot of damage was done.

South Padre Island has grown and grown since my last visit about 40 years ago. It has a lot of new high rise condo's and hotels now and looks like a little Miami.

We did get to visit with a lot of family and friends. We stayed in Kingsville over a month and atended a family reunion in Albany, TX. Hedi Grebe's wedding was fun and we stayed a week and celebrated with the family. A visit to Big Spring let us spend some time with Jerry & Dorothy Rogers as well as several other "cousins" that we found from our "Family Tree" work.

Blessings to All
Jim & Connie
