Cold and Rainy -- Dark days of Fall

I'm home with a cold today. We are having the
cold, rainy part of Fall - it is 37 degrees and dark gloomy outside.
One thing that I had forgotten about, during the
short period when we lived in Tennessee, was the sound of rain of skylights.
Our skylights are a wonderful addition to the living room and dining room.
Today, staying home and laying down on the couch, I listened to sound of the
rain off-and-on all morning. The sound of rain or dry leaves rattling across
the skylight is really wonderful. Skylights bring more that daylight into a
room they also bring some of the outside ambience inside. Very
nice.
We are almost done with the first part of the remodel. Yippee. We have repainted after the "Texas Chain Saw Massacre" event. We have put up wallpaper were we can while we wait for the next round of quotes. Everything is coming together very nicely. It is a rather hard to remember "the way it was". I am very pleased with the way the chandelier turned out. We used a wrought iron branch to hang the fixture from. The light drops from the center of the skylight opening. It is rather dramatic.
It is nice to have the room back together and to have the tarps up. It is nice to start to live in the space again even though I know that we have two more projects for this space this Fall (redo the fireplace surround and mantle in tile and add a 9 foot window along the back wall that will look out into the backyard).
