Lola at Seven Months and What Lola Knows

Lola is getting to be a little girl dog now. She still has her puppy moments. She still spends a lot of time with all four feet off the ground. Leaping is a favorite sport. There is a new photo album on my photo site (located here ).

Lola has grown up mentally as well as physically. It is hard to belive that she has only been living with us since August 12th.

Lola at 19 weeks

I have posted more pictures of Lola on photo site - http://homepage.mac.com/jimphelps/PhotoAlbum41.html She is growing like crazy as the pictures will show. She just crossed 30 pounds and is on her way to 50 or 60 pounds I would guess.

We can safely say that we no longer have a little girl puppy - we now have a little girl dog.

New pictures of Lola at 15 weeks

Below are some more pictures of Lola. She is growing like a weed. She now weighs well over 20 pounds and she is in a tall-and-lanky stage. Her paws are still quite big so there is more growing to come. Lola is also at a funny point where her puppy brain tells her to do things that her more adult brain tells her she shouldn't. You can see her start to do something (chew, jump, bite) and then suddenly turn away at the last instance. She usually then turns to look at us like she is saying, "I was going to but then I remembered I shouldn't - that's good right?"

Get a puppy - build a fence

Ena and I had been planning a fence around part of the back yard for quite a while. Then we got Lola and the project suddenly jumped in priority. We are using pre-built 8 foot cedar fence sections, drivable fence post base s and EasyGate gate building systems. The fence building is going quite quickly. Read more to see pictures.

Y'all might get tired of cute puppy pictures...

Lola is growing quickly and is very entertaining. I try to give her a variety of experiences. We walk in the back yard on the stones, bark mulch, grass and gravel. I gave her an ice cube which was very entertaining. I know make Pupcicles for her. I put a few kibbles in the bottom of a small tupperware, add about 1/4" of water and freeze. They are a fun treat that helps her soothe her chewy little puppy teeth gums. We are remodeling so she gets to meet a lot of people and hear a lot of noises.

We have a new PUPPY! Now, what to name her?

We just picked up a new puppy. She is SOOO cute. OK. Almost all puppies are sooo cute but this one is really cute. She is a lab/standard poodle cross - a new breed called a labradoodle. They are supposed to be non-shedding like a poodle but with fetching and water characteristics like a lab. She loves people and very fun. She is just 8 weeks old and at that adorable klutzy explorer stage. I know you can hardly wait to see pictures. Read more to see her first photos. We are thinking of naming her "Truffle" - our sweet little chocolate (she is chocolate lab colored) or maybe "Petunia". Have a name suggestion? Post it in the comments.
