Lola at Seven Months and What Lola Knows

Lola is getting to be a little girl dog now. She
still has her puppy moments. She still spends a lot of time with all four feet
off the ground. Leaping is a favorite sport. There is a new photo album on my
photo site (located here ).
Lola has grown up mentally as well as physically. It is hard to belive that she has only been living with us since August 12th.

Lola has grown up mentally as well as physically. It is hard to belive that she has only been living with us since August 12th.
Today, I was thinking about "what does Lola know".
She has been through one puppy class and is currently enrolled in two others.
We have taught her lots of new things. I was loosing track of everything we
have taught her during the past few months. I decided that I would list them
all just so I would remember to work on these things off and on. I was rather
surprised at the list.
This isn't just a "proud Father" recount but also a good list for us to remember what things she has learned so we can continue to work on her training. At seven months, she "knows" these things but doesn't always "do these things"
The Basics: She knows these as both hand and verbal commands.
Sit
Down
Stand
Heal
Come
With me - you don't have to heal but you should come along with me
Don't bite - get your mouth off of what ever it is on
Off - get your feet off of what ever they are on.
The Fun Stuff
The name of the following toys: Bungie, Raccoon, Smiley, Ball, Really Big Ball, Squeaky, Chewy, Rope, Goose (she also knew Football, le Pew, Bird and Bear but those toys have been chewed RIP)
We use these with "Go Get Your..." or "Go Find Your..."
"Show Me Your Puppy Belly" which means roll-over
"Hup" jump up on something
Catch It
Fetch
Drop It - release what you have in your mouth.
She knows the name of treats - chewy, peanut butter, vitamin
Let's Watch Football - get up on the couch in the TV room and snuggle
Snuggle or Cuddle
Around the House
Go find Ena/Jim - go to the other person
Take this to Ena/Jim - take what I'm handing you and go find Ena
Go Upstairs
Downstairs
Bedroom - go to the bedroom
Bedtime
Outside
Inside
Go in the Car
Go get the paper
Intermediate Stuff
Leave It - something yummy on the floor
Sit Stay
Down Stay
Stand Stay
Wait - don't go through the door until I say so
Settle - means calm down
Field Stuff (she is rusty on this since we are in the depths of Winter)
"wooWEEET" whistle - means look at me - this isn't a technical name for a whistle, it is what it kinda sounds like - "woooWEET"
long whistle - come
wooWEEET plus "Wait" and/or Arm up - Wait on the trail until I release you
woo weeet plus Left/Right Extended Out - go left or go right
KeepAGoin" - go farther away from me
Come Here (as com'mere) - come closer to me
Hup- jump up on
Walk On Top - stay up and walk on top of something (falling trees being a favorite)
I see a dog - means that I have seen another dog that she can play with
Go say Hi - means you can run off and meet that other dog.
Don't Tug - don't pull on your leash/long line/ zippy leash.
Gettemup - look for whatever we were playing with right were you are at now.
Other Handling Stuff
Grabbing Her Collar - (and give her treats) She actually likes it now
Leading her by the Collar - like above only leading her away
"Same Side" - go on the same side of the tree/post etc as me
