Mayflies in June

The annual mayfly invasion is about to begin. Never really noticed them in Windsor but out here by the lake they dominate the environment for a few days every June. Once they start dying snow shovels are used to clear sidewalks and the roads become so slippery you can't trust your brakes.

This one has been hanging around my front door for the past two days. Expecting several thousand more later in the week.
