Tentative commitments

This is a test, only a test.

I have been enthusiastically following the explosion of the blog universe for over two years and yet have never ventured myself until now into this new space/time continuum. My excuse was that I was too busy, tired, overcommitted, etc. This is however, no longer acceptable. At the first of the month I retired from my factory job and time is no longer an issue.

During the last few months of work many friends asked me "So what are you going to do?" I had no answer. My reasons for leaving were negative and opportunistic. I no longer enjoyed my job and the offer of an early retirement buyout with a full pension was too good to pass up.

So I told my friends that I would figure out what to do with my life afterwards, after a good rest and vacation.

It's been 19 days and I'm well rested and curious about the future. I suspect writing may play some part in that future so starting a blog seems like a good idea.
