An Easter ParableWhile waiting in line to see the movie Expelled,
a film about creationism and intelligent design, biologist and ID critic PZ
Myers was, well, expelled
from the premises. He left
quietly, while his family and friends stayed and watched the movie,
which includes an interview with Myers.
One of those friends was Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion, perhaps the world's best known atheist. Dawkins is also in the movie. He and Myers say
they were misled into participating by false
pretenses by the producers.
According to this review, Expelled claims Darwinists are conspiring to deny academic freedom to scientists who believe in intelligent design. The reviewer was not impressed with the evidence. Kicking out of the theatre someone you asked to help make your film isn't impressive either. Not noticing that your most famous opponent is also present is down right embarrassing. I would have given anything to be at the question and answer session when the film ended. By the way the full title of the flick is "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed."
