2009/2010 Youth Ice Hockey Season

It is once again time to begin registration for the Jr. Colonials Recreational Youth Ice Hockey Program. In person registration will be held at the Morris Plains Community Center,

Jim Fear Drive, Morris Plains.

Registration Dates:

Thursday, June 10, 2009 7:30-8:30pm

Thursday, July 9, 2009 7:30-8:30pm

Thursday, August 6, 2009 7:30-8:30pm

TEAMS WILL FILL ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS AND THEN A WAIT LIST WILL FORM UNTIL WE HAVE ENOUGH PLAYERS FOR A SECOND TEAM

Registration forms may be downloaded and mailed to the organization directly. It is recommended for new players to the organization to register onsite so that appropriate sizing of jerseys can be completed (Sample jerseys will be available). Forms may be mailed in advance of the onsite attendance.

JERSEYS... This year each player will require two jerseys: To prevent our teams from having to don pinnies or try to guess "which maroon jersey is Morristown and which one is Madison?" We are now going to have a Maroon jersey and a White Jersey brought to every game.

You will see there is a space for ordering Maroon and a separate space for White. You can mail it in with payment just like registration. PLEASE SEND IN THE FORM AND PAYMENT ASAP (do NOT wait until end of summer) OR THERE MAY BE A DELAY IN GETTING YOUR JERSEY!

IMPORTANT FORMS... also here: Medical "Consent to Treat" form (2 pages), USA Hockey Waiver of Liability and Code of Conduct for Players and Parents to sign (yes even the young ones!). We will collect these at the first practice and every player will need each filled out before skating.

SAFETY... Please ensure that your child is playing with a mouth guard at every game and practice to avoid serious injury. Pay particular attention to the articles on safety/injury and the "Relax, Its just a Game" campaign in the Code of Conduct section of the site.

EDUCATION.... Players, Parents & Coaches, we are continuing to expand the EDUCATION sections of our site. Expand your knowledge and understanding for playing or watching the game of hockey by browsing this area of the site. Please share with the Webmaster any content that would enhance the educational value of this section.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED... A fun and rewarding Hockey season for our kids is highly dependent on parent involvement and participation. Every season we need volunteers to fill Board of Director, Coaching and Team Coordinator positions. We also need help for Picture Day and the Annual Banquet. Additionally, we must also supply Penalty Box Minders for each MCYHL home game. Please contact your child's coach or the Jr Colonials Board of Directors for more information regarding how you can play a role in enhancing your child's team or the Jr Colonials organization.
