New music nowadays seems to be an endless stream of commercial, derivative slop with a few shades of brilliance that pop up once in a while just to keep things interesting. So, when the shades of brilliance come along, you gotta ACT!

Don't walk, RUN and go buy Kaki King. Her fingerstyle guitar work is an amazing blending of styles you didn't even know about, let alone guess they could work so well together.

I remember thinking how lame it seemed when my parents, or anybody else over the age of say, 25, took a liking to whatever (what I thought was) avant garde music I happened to be listening to at the time.

Electric Skychurch originally attracted attention performing at all-night raves in the desert outside Los Angeles. I got turned on to them from the rave documentary B3773R Living Through Circuitry. They also contributed music to the film π. BIG NEWS: They're touring again!
