Model Work


Nobody starts out a new venture expecting it to fail. Yet, so many do that you have to wonder how we all keep going.

I spent a few weekends earlier this fall trying my hand at working with some local models. In my seemingly endless supply of naivete, I thought this would be a walk in the park of sorts.

In some ways it was. In other ways... much less so.

Body Adornment & Modification


I'm starting a new long-term photography project on body adornment and modification. If you or anyone you know has tattoos, piercings, brandings or other ritual scarring, and are willing to be photographed, please contact me

Why do this? Hasn't this been done before? I've begun working with models, which brought to mind the nature of beauty. What is beauty? Why do some cultures have conflicting concepts of what is beautiful, and what makes for physical beauty?

The artwork itself is always interesting, but often the stories behind it can make it truly compelling. I'm hoping to combine these elements to my advantage. It has been done before, but not by me. I suppose it's as much for my own education as anything else, and people will get professional photographs of their art.
