On Facing Adversity - Part 4

This recurring piece has become something of a tale of the perils of parenting; questions about what to do, when, and how (and facing the feeling of futility when nothing CAN be done).

Today's drama: What do you do when the mother of your Grandson decides to take him out of state for several months?

Considering my recent attraction to the practice of Buddhism, it's no small irony that I'm all busted up about this, yet you could argue that it's merely the playing out of my karma...

You see, in late 1983 I uprooted my young family from Muskegon and took them to Columbia, Missouri to finish my Bachelor of Journalism degree (Yeah, a B.J. degree. No, it's not funny). Joshua only got to see his Grandparents every three or four months. Then, for reasons that are beginning to escape me, I moved us to Utah for three years and to Ohio for another four.

So, I've got a bit of karma to play out yet... LOL

We will all miss Keith (and Megan) dearly, and sincerely hope that they won't be gone for as long as Sherri and I took Joshua away from their Grandparents.
