On facing adversity


I'm facing an unlooked for challenge. One I can't yet elaborate on, but I feel compelled to describe the emotions resulting from it.

A significant event has entered my life. One that heralds an era of great change and uncertainty. Now I understand that you can never set foot in the same stream twice.

I feel utterly rudderless. I'm treading water, waiting for events to point me in the direction of action. My heart tells me how to act, but not what to do. I'm at the mercy of the decisions of others. Decisions with far reaching ramifications, farther even than those who must decide can even realize.

Even as I yield to the flow, it seems to pool and eddy. This will not be a simple time. Lost trust will need to be re-earned, reasons explained and explained again. Unity will be essential, and building it, difficult.

It is a time for honesty from all...
