US Deserves the Government they Elect

This primary cycle has been a curious one to me. Gov. Dean runs on the issues, and people criticize him for being 'unelectable', but never criticize his stances.

Meanwhile, the toughest question John Kerry gets asked is whether or not he used Botox on his face.

People say they don't like the media telling them who to vote for. But they sure seem to listen a lot...

I'm reminded of the lyrics of an old DEVO song from the 80s, "Freedom of Choice"

"Freedom of Choice
is what you've got.
Freedom from Choice,
is what you want..."

If it doesn't bother you that Kerry only has a 30% vote attendance record in the senate, voted against the first Gulf War and for the Second, voted for 'No Child Left Behind' and the Patriot Act, then go ahead and vote for him.

Imagine this scenario: A Presidential debate, not long from now...

Kerry: "I think No Child Left Behind is a terrible program."

Bush: "But John, you voted with me on that."

Kerry: "Going into Iraq was a bad idea."

Bush: "But John, you voted with me on that."

Kerry: "The Patriot Act is a crime against the Bill of Rights."

Bush: But John, you voted with me on that..."

Kerry has waffled on every issue in this campaign. He served in Vietnam, and then came home and protested it.

And he's MORE electable than Dean? Please...

If you aren't going to vote your conscience, if you aren't going to vote for who you think is the best candidate in the primaries/caucuses, JUST STAY HOME.

Come November you'll have your chance to vote for whoever ends up the nomination. By succumbing to the 'electability' argument, you're allowing the Repuglicans to dictate your choice in the one thing that should purely be your opinion. Your vote.
