the skills and motivation necessary for success in college.
Responsibilities included grant writing, supervision and training
of program staff (including instructors and tutors), curriculum
development, budget management, community outreach, and program
evaluation.

Developed and supervised tutorial program involving
sixty undergraduate tutors each year; supervised and trained
site coordinators, academic instructors, and tutors; developed
pre-college internship/mentoring programs and supporting curricular
materials for satellite sites in San Diego (science and medical
research organizations at UCSD and in La Jolla), Washington
D.C.(U.S. Congress, U.S. Library of Congress, other federal
and community agencies), and Sacramento, California (California
Legislature)

Designed and taught composition (from sentence
structure level courses to essay and research writing seminars)
and literature courses for summer residential and academic year
programs for low-income, college bound students. Hired, trained,
