Ask the Pilot

I've never before had occasion to link to Salon's "Ask the Pilot" column, because he mostly writes about more mundane aspects of air travel that don't concern us here, but considering the level of interest in the story of the Syrian Wayne Newton, I thought it appropriate that I link to today's column, which contains an excellent takedown of Annie Jacobsen's silly story, the damage it's doing, and the partisan letter bombs he's received because of it. That last part may explain to you why I've never been keen on having a comments section. People like that really put me off my feed. What's worse is that some of those people, members of FAMA, are apparently fanatical ex-air marshals who are attempting to pass themselves off as an official government agency.

And we're worried about Syrian lounge singers? Sheesh.
