An old space hand describes a strange little critter he knew once. Asimov wrote this story for Campbell’s "Probability Zero" feature, short little stories intended to give newcomers a chance to publish. And to give the impression that this story was by a newcomer, it was published under the pseudonym, George E. Dale. Just as well, since it isn’t very good—Asimov is trying too hard here to tell a "tall tale" kind of story (something he would do just as badly in "First Law", but rather better in "Super-Neutron"), and it just doesn’t work.
