2002 CHUMS Charities

| CHUMS thanks all of you who bought our cards during the holiday season. $3,400 will be donated to three charities. We decided that for 2002 we should have a local charity, a charity that focuses on interfaith peace dialogue, and a charity focused on the needs of children worldwide.
Seeds of Peace brings teens from conflicting areas of the world together to teach them conflict resolution and the skills for making peace. See their web site at: Save the Children is a world- wide organization dedicated to improving the lives of children through emergency relief and practical projects. Their web site is: http://www.savethechildren.org The Antiochian Church of The Redeemer in Los Altos, CA, was burned down last spring as a result of arson. The crime is still unsolved but more importantly the church is seeking donations to cover the cost of rebuilding not covered by insurance. In January of 2003, work began to demolish the burned out shell so that rebuilding can begin. |
